Carbon60 are seeking a skilled Project C&I (Control & Instrumentation) Engineer to join our client's growing Thermal Business Unit in Yorkshire for an hybrid working contract position.
Role: Project C&I Engineer (Control & Instrumentation)
Sector: Thermal Energy
Location: Yorkshire, England
Start Date: ASAP
Duration: Initial 6-Month Contract + Possible Extension
Rates: £60 Hourly Rate Inside IR35 via Umbrella
Clearance: BPSS
Must have eligibility to work in the UK to be considered for this position
Must be within commutable distance for hybrid work 3 days on site
Experience with Gas Storage, Hydrogen, CCGT
Responsibilities:
Project Management: Oversee and manage instrumentation and control projects from initiation through to completion, ensuring all project objectives are met.
Design & Implementation: Develop and implement instrumentation and control systems, including DCS, PLC, and SCADA systems, for thermal energy projects.
Technical Support: Provide technical support and troubleshooting for existing control systems, ensuring minimal downtime and optimal performance.
Compliance & Standards: Ensure all projects comply with industry standards, regulations, and best practices.
Documentation: Maintain accurate project documentation, including specifications, schematics, and technical reports.
Collaboration: Work closely with crossfunctional teams, including engineers, project managers, and clients, to ensure seamless project execution.
Budget & Schedule Management: Monitor project budgets and schedules, making adjustments as necessary to meet project goals.
Required Qualifications & Experience:
Education: Bachelor's Degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering, Control Engineering, or a related field.
Experience: Minimum of 5 years' experience in control and instrumentation engineering within the thermal energy sector or similar sector.
Technical Skills: Proficient in the use of DCS, PLC, and SCADA systems. Familiarity with relevant software tools and programming languages.
Regulatory Knowledge: In depth knowledge of industry standards and regulations related to thermal energy and control systems.
Problem Solving: Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Flexibility: Ability to work effectively in a hybrid work environment.
Desirable Skills:
Certifications: Professional certifications in control and instrumentation engineering.
Project Management: Experience with project management methodologies and tools.
