Position Summary
We are seeking a qualified Control and Instrumentation Engineer (preferably chartered) with a minimum of 10 years of experience to lead our Engineering Team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee and manage the Instrumentation and Control Engineering Team.
- Supervise and assign tasks to engineers and designers.
- Develop scopes of work and estimates to support project proposals.
- Ensure the delivery of engineering design within budget and schedule.
- Coordinate with other engineering disciplines, clients, and package vendors.
- Act as the design authority for all instrumentation and control projects.
- Prepare, review, and approve design calculations, specifications, data sheets, reports, scopes of work, and drawings according to British and International Standards.
- Monitor compliance with applicable codes, accepted engineering practices, and client standards.
- Provide specialized design input for 3D models.
- Conduct technical analysis of proposals from equipment manufacturers and contractors.
- Interpret drawings and information from vendors and other disciplines.
- Participate in safety, risk, planning, model, and constructability reviews.
- Identify and report scope changes.
- Adhere to the Company Quality Management Systems.
- Perform other professional duties as required.
- Experience in Heavy Engineering, Chemical, Petrochemical, or Oil & Gas Industries is preferred.
- At least 10 years of experience in instrumentation and control, ideally in high hazard process industries.
- Relevant Technical Engineering Degree and preferably a Chartered Engineer status.
- Ability to work effectively in a multi-disciplinary team environment.
- Proficient in task allocation and progress monitoring to meet project requirements.
- Experience in both design office and operational plant settings.
- Comfortable engaging with clients and vendors at all business levels.
- Proficient in MS Office Suite and familiar with AutoCAD.
- Knowledge of ATEX and equipment for electrically hazardous areas.
- Understanding of Functional Safety, with a suitable qualification preferred.
