We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Local Campaigns Officer to lead and coordinate our local campaigning work across the Midlands. As a key member of our team, you will play a crucial role in helping Parkinson's UK improve the lives of people with Parkinson's and those who care for them.

Key Responsibilities
  • Recruit and Manage Local Campaign Volunteers

Develop and implement a strategy to recruit and manage a sustainable network of local campaign volunteers, ensuring they have the necessary skills and support to make a meaningful impact.

Provide Expert Advice and Support

Offer expert advice and support to colleagues and campaign volunteers on how to challenge and influence decision makers, ensuring our local campaigns are effective and impactful.

Build Strong Relationships

Establish and maintain close working relationships with our field staff, local networks, and other stakeholders to ensure our local campaigns are aligned with our national priorities.

Deliver Local Campaign Activity

Use our national campaign priorities to deliver related local campaign activity, ensuring our work is informed by the needs of our local communities.

What We're Looking For
  • Experience in Campaigning

You will have experience of campaigning and an understanding of the basic tools and techniques used in campaigning, as well as the ability to develop and implement effective campaign strategies.

Volunteer Management

You will have experience of working with volunteers and people with lived experience of a cause, including how best to support them to achieve their campaigning goals.

Event Organisation

You will have experience in organising events, including the ability to plan, coordinate, and deliver successful events that meet our objectives.

Networking and Relationship Building

You will have the ability to network and build supportive relationships with volunteers, MPs, and health bodies, ensuring our local campaigns are informed by the needs of our stakeholders.

Training and Development

You will have experience of delivering training to volunteers and staff, ensuring they have the necessary skills and knowledge to make a meaningful impact.

Flexibility and Adaptability

You will be able to work flexibly, sometimes evenings or weekends, and be able to manage and prioritise a diverse portfolio of work.
