Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Health and Safety Specialist to join our team at Contechs. As a key member of our organization, you will be responsible for ensuring the health and safety of our employees, contractors, and clients.

Main Responsibilities

  • Participate in investigations to identify and address non-conformances and provide training to teams on quality investigation procedures.
  • Conduct risk assessments and implement follow-up actions to minimize or eliminate accidents and asset losses.
  • Develop and implement training programs to drive a safety-perfect culture and ensure Health and Safety standards and awareness are well understood throughout the organization.
  • Lead the development of a safety culture and drive behavioral safety as a way of life.
  • Ensure compliance with ethical and legal responsibilities and maintain an environment where employees can speak up and raise issues.
  • Manage the safety budget and ensure financial targets are met.

Requirements

  • Knowledge of Environmental Management Systems and experience working with governing bodies such as the HSE, EA, or Local Authorities.
  • Good process management and business application of systems and functional principles and standards.
  • Understanding of the importance of building a good safety culture and working with key stakeholders to drive engagement.
  • Dynamic, tenacious, and courageous.
  • Able to build relationships with key stakeholders and peers.
  • Effective communication, presentation, and training skills.
  • Tech-savvy with experience of Windows and ability to adapt to other systems as required.
  • Demonstrated ability to create a motivational environment and drive a good health and safety culture.
  • Technical functional excellence in Health and Safety and demonstrated through leadership.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Demonstrated ability to develop passion, understanding, and capability for functional agenda in others in the business.
  • Strong change management skills.
  • Understanding of CDM and project management skills.
  • Experience in auditing on ISO 14001 and 18001 standards.
  • Underlying knowledge of Process Safety Management.
