Position Title: TECHNICAL BUYER

Contract Type: 12-month fixed-term contract

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Identify and assess potential vendors for technical products and services.
  • Negotiate agreements and pricing with vendors to ensure cost-effective procurement.
  • Manage vendor relationships and evaluate vendor performance.
  • Ensure all acquisitions comply with the company's quality and technical standards.
  • Collaborate with engineering and production teams to comprehend technical needs.
  • Maintain precise records of purchases, pricing, and vendor performance.
  • Develop and execute procurement strategies to enhance cost-effectiveness and efficiency.
  • Address any issues or discrepancies with vendors and deliveries.
  • Conduct market analysis to discover new vendors and products.
  • Prepare and deliver reports on procurement activities and performance metrics.
  • Ensure adherence to company policies and procedures.
  • Monitor inventory levels and oversee stock replenishment.
  • Coordinate with logistics and warehouse teams to guarantee timely delivery of goods.
  • Evaluate and refine procurement processes and procedures.

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS:

  • A bachelor's degree in procurement and supply chain management, engineering, or a related field.
  • Professional certifications such as CPSM (Certified Professional in Supply Management) or CPP (Certified Purchasing Professional) are advantageous.
  • Thorough understanding of the oil and gas industry, including the technical materials and equipment used.
  • Knowledge of industry-specific regulations, standards, and best practices.
  • Proficiency in procurement software and ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) systems.
  • Strong analytical skills to evaluate vendor performance, costs, and market trends.
  • Exceptional negotiation abilities to secure favorable terms with vendors.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills for collaboration with vendors and internal teams.
  • Competence in managing budgets and the financial aspects of procurement.
  • Understanding of cost management and financial analysis principles.
  • Strong organizational and project management skills to handle multiple procurement activities simultaneously.
  • Ability to negotiate effectively with vendors to secure advantageous terms and conditions.
  • Proficiency in analyzing market trends, costs, and vendor performance.
  • Capability to develop and implement strategic sourcing plans.
  • Commitment to maintaining high standards of quality and efficiency in equipment and tools.
  • Strong teamwork skills to collaborate closely with various internal stakeholders.
  • Ability to identify and mitigate risks associated with procurement activities and supply chain operations.
