About the Role
Nomad Foods is seeking a skilled Procurement Specialist to join our Central Procurement Team. As a key member of the team, you will be responsible for sourcing high-quality fish products from both European and global markets.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and lead long-term sourcing strategies for direct raw materials and co-manufactured finished goods.
- Partner with functional leads across R&D, Quality, Factory sites, and Marketing to design and implement sourcing strategies, innovation, and renovation for the fish category.
- Understand key cost drivers, industry trends, and standard methodologies to design and implement sourcing strategies.
- Develop and maintain long-term pricing mechanisms and relationship strategies for fish species to drive sustainable competitive advantage.
- Secure direct supply, assure high-quality standards, on-time deliveries, bench costs, and ensure food safety regulations and CSR requirements.
- Accountability for category spend, including supply, cost, service, quality, and cash.
- Identify, monitor, and actively manage potential risks or challenges.
- Ensure all category costs are appropriately negotiated, and all contracts are in place and managed in accordance with Procurement Policies and critical metrics.
- Lead supplier performance and contract compliance, providing regular financial, service, and quality forecasts to the Senior Buyer Fish.
- Work closely with Group and Local partners to ensure deep understanding of functional needs, develop strategies to enable breakthrough ideas capturing from suppliers, and ensure their implementation improves value for the Business, reduces Total Cost of Ownership, and optimizes cash flow.
- Responsible for the development, execution, and follow-up of Risk Management of your category, aimed at reducing supply risk, currency exposure, and delivering CSR goals.
About You
We are looking for a skilled Procurement Specialist with experience working in an FMCG/food manufacturing procurement environment. You should have a good understanding of purchasing contracts, cost modeling, developing sourcing strategies, excellent relationship building, and negotiation skills.
A Chartered Institute of Procurement & Supply (CIPS) or similar qualification would be highly advantageous.
