NHS Fife is seeking dedicated Administrative Support Officers to deliver essential clerical assistance within the Health Records department, focusing on various tasks including Libraries, Discharge Management, and Document Scanning.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide clerical support across multiple roles within the department.
  • Engage in administrative duties such as preparing and digitizing medical records and uploading information to the clinical portal.
  • Manage physical documents, requiring the ability to lift and maneuver heavy case note folders, as well as retrieve files from shelving.
  • Facilitate the movement of substantial volumes of boxes to optimize storage space.
  • Regularly handle loaded trolleys and cages as part of daily operations.
  • Assist Health Records Supervisors with additional tasks to maintain efficiency across the inpatient and emergency services.

Qualifications:

Applicants should possess relevant administrative or clerical experience, demonstrating the ability to prioritize tasks effectively in a fast-paced environment. Candidates must be capable of working both independently and collaboratively within a team.

Educational requirements include a Standard Grade (or equivalent) with successful completion in English and Arithmetic. Proficiency in keyboarding and typing is essential, along with strong organizational and listening skills. A flexible work approach and a competent level of English language skills are necessary for successful performance in this role.

Note: Applications for secondment will be considered with prior approval from your current line manager.

Please be aware that the salary for this position will be pro rata based on part-time hours.
