About the Role

We are seeking an exceptional leader to join our team as the Assistant Director for Data and AI. This is a unique opportunity to drive digital transformation and innovation within our organization.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead a team of around 30 colleagues to deliver significant change using market-leading technologies.
  • Provide outstanding and compassionate leadership to a team of around 30 colleagues, setting clear and stretching objectives and nurturing their professional development.
  • Oversee delivery of our Data and Innovation Strategies - encompassing complex transformation across multiple projects in parallel.
  • Manage day-to-day operational services for data and innovation, ensuring that critical services and regular outputs are produced on-time with sufficient resilience and scalability.
  • Guide the development of new data and innovation solutions using leading technologies.
  • Uphold data quality and assurance for the Trust by building and deploying a governance framework.
  • Enhance data literacy across the Trust and South West region, ensuring a single version of truth and enabling users to achieve maximum benefit for our solutions.
  • Actively contribute to regional and national initiatives through integration, interoperability and sharing of critical data between NHS organizations, while ensuring the security and governance of our patient's data.
  • Drive thought-leadership in the use of new, innovative technologies and solutions including Artificial Intelligence, Robotic Process Automation and Machine Learning.

Requirements
  • MSc or strong evidenced experience of working in Mathematics, Statistics, Operational Research, Artificial Intelligence, Enterprise Architecture, Data Science or Computer Science.
  • Evidence of up-to-date personal and professional development.
  • Demonstrable recent or current senior management experience at the same or similar level in a fast-paced environment.
  • Developing and applying modelling tools and techniques to improve organizational performance.
  • Prince 2 Qualification or an equivalent qualification in an Agile or Waterfall project management methodology.
  • Experience in implementation and benefits realisation for AI and/or RPA projects and proof of learning from those.
