Position Overview

The EPR (Electronic Patient Record) Transformation Lead will play a pivotal role in the deployment of the new EPR system across multiple acute healthcare facilities. This position will offer specialized guidance to both clinical and administrative teams, assisting them in preparing for the EPR rollout and the associated changes to their operational practices.

We are looking for candidates with a background in the NHS who possess experience in leading teams through transitions, along with operational insights and change management expertise that will facilitate a cultural embrace of this transformation.

The ideal candidate will collaborate with clinical and administrative teams to ensure that through structured and focused engagement, colleagues are well-prepared to leverage the capabilities that the EPR system will provide.

Key Responsibilities

The successful applicant will engage with local workstreams and clinical teams to ensure that priorities are aligned with the overarching program objectives, supporting staff in the development and enhancement of the new EPR across all clinical services. Prioritizing patient safety, quality of care, and patient experience is essential and must be integrated into all aspects of the implementation process and beyond.

The Transformation Lead will be part of a Senior Change Team, providing mentorship and coaching to all members involved in the Implementation Program. Additionally, they will be responsible for identifying and planning change initiatives that will deliver measurable financial, non-financial, and social benefits, all aligned with a clearly defined set of KPIs owned by the relevant teams.

Person Specification

Qualifications

Essential

  • A degree in a relevant field or equivalent experience.
  • A qualification in project management.

Desirable

  • A qualification in Change Management (such as APMG Change Management Foundation or equivalent).
  • Evidence of ongoing professional development.

Knowledge

Essential

  • A proven history of planning, executing, and managing change projects and programs, with the ability to oversee multiple projects with minimal supervision.
  • In-depth knowledge of Change Management theories and practices within the NHS context.

Desirable

  • Experience collaborating with vendors on various EPR modules.
  • Familiarity with the National Agenda for IT in the NHS.
