About the Role

Clyde & Co is seeking an experienced Early Careers Development Manager to join our team. As a key member of our HR department, you will be responsible for overseeing the development and implementation of our early careers strategy, ensuring that our future trainees are equipped with the skills and knowledge needed to succeed in their careers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Early Careers Strategy Development
    • Develop and implement a comprehensive early careers strategy that aligns with the firm's overall business objectives.
    • Work closely with the Training Principal to ensure that our trainees receive high-quality training and development opportunities.
  • Trainee Support and Development
    • Provide guidance and support to trainees throughout their training contract, including career counselling and general support.
    • Work with the Casualty business to develop and implement a qualification pathway for trainees.
  • Business Partnerships
    • Partner with the business and HR team to build an apprentice and early years career strategy, using data-led decision making.
    • Work with the Learning and Development team to organize the trainee induction programme and qualification course.
  • Reporting and Analysis
    • Report on graduate recruitment statistics to the Management Board for firm-wide discussion.
    • Monitor competitors and identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Team Management
    • Direct management of 4 team members and dotted line management of an additional L&D team member.
Essential Skills and Experience
  • Proven Managerial Experience
    • Proven experience in early careers development, preferably within legal or professional services.
  • Business Acumen
    • Excellent client service orientation with first-rate communication skills and the ability to work with fee earners and staff at all levels.
  • Leadership and Management
    • Experience of managing and motivating direct reports.
    • Proven ability to work in a team environment across HR and the wider firm.
