Principal Clinical Psychologist - Gastroenterology

Salary: £58,972 to £68,525 - Band 8b

Hours: Full time (37.5 hours)

Location: Hybrid

We are looking for a dedicated and empathetic Clinical Psychologist specializing in Physical Medicine and Long-Term Conditions to contribute to our multidisciplinary team.

As a vital member of the clinical team, you will oversee a clinical caseload and collaborate on the leadership of psychological service delivery within the Gastroenterology Service.

The successful candidate will be part of a dynamic and supportive Clinical Health Psychology Service, which encompasses various specialties including ICU, Haematology, Cancer, Pain Management, ME/CFS, Diabetes, Bariatrics, and more.

This role is jointly supported by two esteemed healthcare trusts.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Provide expert advice and consultation regarding patients' psychological care to other clinical team members.
  2. Deliver direct and indirect psychological interventions for patients with gastrointestinal conditions, including inpatient care and co-facilitating group sessions on IBS.
  3. Lead initiatives in service delivery, planning, and care pathways.

Essential Qualifications:
  1. Doctoral degree in clinical or counselling psychology.
  2. Experience in specialized assessment and treatment of adults in both inpatient and community settings.
  3. Relevant experience with gastrointestinal conditions.
  4. Background in collaborating with clinical and management teams for service improvement.
  5. HCPC registration.
