Principal Clinical Psychologist in Gastroenterology

Salary: £58,972 to £68,525 - Band 8b

Hours: Full time (37.5 hours)

Location: Hybrid

We are looking for a dedicated and empathetic Clinical Psychologist specializing in Health Psychology, particularly in managing Long Term Conditions related to Gastroenterology. In this role, you will be an integral part of a multidisciplinary team, collaborating closely with the Consultant Psychologist to oversee a clinical caseload and contribute to the leadership of psychological service delivery.

The successful candidate will be a vital member of our dynamic and expanding Clinical Health Psychology Service, which encompasses various specialties including ICU, Cancer, Pain Management, Diabetes, and Gastroenterology.

Main Responsibilities:

  1. Provide expert advice and consultation regarding patients' psychological care to other clinical team members.
  2. Deliver both direct and indirect psychological interventions for patients with gastrointestinal conditions, including inpatient care and co-facilitating group therapy sessions.
  3. Lead initiatives on service delivery, planning, and care pathways.

Essential Qualifications:

  1. Doctoral degree in clinical or counselling psychology.
  2. Experience in assessment and treatment of adults in physical health settings.
  3. Relevant experience in Gastroenterology.
  4. HCPC registration.
