Position Overview:
We are seeking a Construction Work Planner to support our operations in the public sector. This role involves collaborating with various stakeholders to ensure effective planning and execution of construction activities.

Key Responsibilities:
As a Construction Work Planner, your primary duties will include:

  • Engaging with Subject Matter Experts to gather technical data for work pack preparation.
  • Conducting site assessments with relevant parties to verify work scope, boundaries, and requirements.
  • Creating comprehensive risk assessments aligned with the defined work scope.
  • Incorporating relevant feedback into work packs to enhance quality and effectiveness.
  • Timely development of work packs, adhering to established milestones.
  • Standardizing work packs for various activities to ensure consistency.
  • Coordinating necessary resources and access to facilitate smooth project execution.
  • Determining crew sizes and durations for efficient delivery of tasks.
  • Addressing conflicts and barriers that may hinder progress, escalating issues as necessary.
  • Proactively informing management of any constraints affecting work pack completion.
  • Collaborating with engineering teams to identify and procure required materials.
  • Utilizing job feedback to refine future work pack processes.
  • Maintaining archives of planning history for efficient preparation of future work packs.
  • Providing guidance to contractor teams regarding plant access and safety measures.
  • Mentoring junior planners to ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.
  • Offering insights on work planning and Integrated Work Management processes to stakeholders.

Essential Qualifications:
To be successful in this role, candidates should possess:

  • A background in engineering.
  • The ability to interpret engineering drawings.
  • Prior experience in planning within a construction environment.
  • Strong organizational skills with the capacity to prioritize tasks effectively.
  • The capability to manage urgent requests efficiently.
  • A collaborative mindset and the ability to work within a team.
  • Consideration will be given to candidates from diverse construction backgrounds.
