Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist the Construction Manager and Engineering Manager in the strategic planning and daily management of construction initiatives.
  • Oversee specific elements of the project timeline as directed by the Project Manager, ensuring timely material deliveries, adherence to schedules, and budget compliance.

Important Requirements:

All applicants must possess full working rights for the UK and be eligible for Security Clearance due to the sensitive nature of our projects.

Primary Duties:

As a Project Engineer, your responsibilities will include:

  • Guarantee that project components are delivered on schedule, within budget, and meet safety and quality standards.
  • Ensure compliance with established design practices and relevant technical standards.
  • Minimize rework by executing tasks efficiently.
  • Collaborate with the Senior Project Manager/Construction Manager to identify and manage commercial and operational risks to meet project objectives.
  • Familiarize yourself with the NEC 4/4 ECC commercial terms applicable to your project.
  • Assist in maintaining positive customer relationships throughout project delivery, including managing changes and expectations effectively.
  • Maintain comprehensive records in line with the mechanical control sheet, including RFIs, FCDs, WPPs, MCRs, ITPs, Record Drawings, and other project communications.
  • Ensure that the document control sheet is kept up to date and that relevant team members are informed of any potential impacts.
  • Plan and organize resources, including plant, access, labor, and materials, in accordance with project requirements.
  • Prepare and review the WPP and ITP for specific activities to ensure quality assurance mechanisms are in place.
  • Draft detailed site instructions for the Project Management team, outlining required works, locations, and any impacts on the program and costs.

Desired Qualifications:

Candidates should possess the following skills and experience:

  • Proven experience in delivering major projects within the nuclear industry or similarly regulated sectors where safety and quality are paramount.
  • HNC or equivalent qualification in Electrical Engineering.
  • APM qualification is advantageous.
  • SMSTS / IOSH certification.
  • Prior experience in engineering roles within a nuclear context.
  • Familiarity with the installation of environmental monitoring systems.
  • Ability to obtain necessary security clearances.
  • High integrity and a strong focus on meeting customer expectations.
  • Knowledge of Project Management methodologies.
  • Effective people management skills in a unionized environment.
