About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Youth Work Manager to lead our Senior A&E Navigator team at Leeds Teaching Hospitals. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality youth work services to young people aged 11-25 who have been victims of serious youth violence.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and manage a team of Navigators to provide outreach services to young people in hospital settings.
  • Develop and implement strategies to engage hard-to-reach young people and improve outcomes for this vulnerable group.
  • Work closely with healthcare teams to establish appropriate responses to support young people's holistic needs.
  • Provide recreational facilities and youth work activities to promote social and emotional well-being.
  • Ensure accurate records of financial outgoings and donated income for charitable trusts.
  • Supervise unqualified staff, including youth work students and volunteers, and contribute to a learning environment.
  • Coordinate creative and therapeutic activities, and implement strategies to support young people's social and emotional capabilities.
Person Specification

We are looking for a candidate with:

  • Professional qualifications in Youth Work, preferably at degree level.
  • Minimum 2 years' experience working with young people from diverse backgrounds.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Leadership and management education, with experience in managing teams.
  • Computer skills, including use of spreadsheets.
  • Able to work collaboratively with other professionals and develop close working relationships with community groups.
