The Clinical Operations team is expanding... We are in search of a seasoned Registered Nurse or Allied Health Professional who is enthusiastic, proactive, and excels in problem-solving while collaborating within a team environment, as well as making independent decisions.

The Clinical Operations Coordinator plays a crucial role in ensuring that patients are admitted promptly, receive appropriate care in suitable settings, and maintain clear communication with all relevant parties.

We seek an individual who is dedicated to patient welfare, who will take initiative and address any potential delays.

This position requires availability around the clock, including weekends and holidays, necessitating a flexible approach to shift coverage.

Key Responsibilities

The Clinical Operations Team (COT) is tasked with ensuring the efficient and safe operation of the facility, collaborating closely with clinical and administrative staff to address any operational challenges.

The COT will leverage their expertise to coordinate the operational aspects of a busy healthcare environment.

The Clinical Operations Coordinator is responsible for facilitating the timely allocation of both elective and emergency beds, working alongside departmental leaders to optimize bed utilization and minimize delays throughout the organization.

While this role requires a high degree of autonomy, support from the Operations Team will be available to foster your managerial and leadership development.

Job Duties

  • Ensure a collaborative team approach to maintain a safe and efficient bed management service 24/7.
  • Provide guidance and support to clinical teams, empowering them to proactively manage patient admissions and discharges.
  • Guarantee timely bed allocation for all patients requiring admission.
  • Promote a culture of engagement and accountability within clinical areas regarding patient admission and discharge processes.

In the absence of the Clinical Operations Manager, you will be responsible for:

  • Managing critical situations involving patients in both clinical and non-clinical settings.
  • Overseeing the response to serious incidents, such as falls.
  • Coordinating the management of missing patients.
  • Facilitating staffing arrangements during off-hours.
  • Liaising with facilities management to address any infrastructure concerns.
  • Acting as the fire safety officer during emergency drills.
  • Supporting emergency response initiatives in specialized areas.

Candidate Profile

Essential Qualifications

  • Registered Nurse with active licensure.
  • Proven experience in team or service management.
  • Experience working within a multidisciplinary team at a senior level.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and manage complex problem-solving scenarios.
  • Exceptional organizational and planning capabilities.
  • Ability to mentor and coach others to achieve desired outcomes.
  • Capacity to handle high-pressure situations effectively.

Desirable Qualifications

  • Degree-level education or equivalent experience.
  • Advanced Life Support (ALS) or Immediate Life Support (ILS) certification.
  • Post-registration clinical qualification relevant to operational management.
  • Proficient in report writing, risk assessment, and project planning.
  • Project management experience with a track record of implementing sustainable changes in a clinical setting.
