Accountant Job Requirements
  • Professional Qualification: ACA or ACCA qualified is essential
  • Experience: Ideally 2-3 years' post-qualified experience in practice, with prior experience independently managing a portfolio
  • Technology: Experience with Xero, TaxCalc, and Excel would be a plus, but not essential
  • Personality: We seek an individual who is independent, honest, personable, and friendly
Key Responsibilities of the Accountant
  • Statutory Accounting: Review and sign off company accounts prepared by junior team members
  • Company Tax Returns: Review and sign off on company tax returns, while identifying planning opportunities for our tax team
  • Self-Assessment Tax Returns: Review and sign off on self-assessment tax returns and manage the compliance process throughout the year for your portfolio of clients
  • Bookkeeping: Provide support and advice to junior team members, especially during the onboarding of new clients
  • Management Accounts: Prepare and submit management accounts for a small subset of your portfolio
  • VAT Returns: Review and sign off on VAT returns, support clients with registration, and identify VAT opportunities and risks within your portfolio
