About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Construction Engineering Specialist to join our team at the Health and Safety Executive. As a key member of our team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safety and well-being of workers in the construction industry.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct site inspections to identify potential hazards and ensure compliance with safety regulations.
  • Analyze construction-related incidents to determine root causes and develop strategies for prevention.
  • Provide technical expertise and guidance to colleagues and stakeholders to improve health and safety practices.
  • Act as an independent expert witness in court proceedings to provide objective opinions on construction-related matters.
  • Collaborate with other teams to develop and implement policies, guidelines, and training programs to promote safety and compliance in the construction industry.
Requirements
  • Hold a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering and be a Chartered Engineer.
  • Have a minimum of [X] years of experience in construction engineering, with a strong understanding of site processes, techniques, and safety regulations.
  • Be a Chartered Member of the Institution of Civil Engineers or Institution of Structural Engineers and registered with the Engineering Council as a Chartered Engineer.
  • Possess excellent communication, analytical, and planning skills, with the ability to convey complex technical information to various audiences.
