  • Patient-centered, empathetic, and driven to provide high-quality clinical care.
  • Effective in communication, capable of inspiring confidence, and able to work both independently and collaboratively.
  • Skilled in working with a multidisciplinary team to meet service requirements as outlined by clinical and management leaders.

If this opportunity resonates with you, we encourage you to consider applying or reaching out for further information.

About Our Organization

As one of the largest acute teaching Trusts in England, we provide numerous learning and development opportunities to help you achieve your career aspirations.

All non-clinical positions may involve a combination of on-site and remote work. Specific details and flexible working arrangements can be discussed during the interview process. Employees at UHS have access to a variety of NHS discounts, a minimum of 35 days of paid leave (pro rata), and a generous pension scheme.

Southampton is a desirable location for both living and working, situated on the south coast with convenient transport links. The area boasts natural attractions and a lower cost of living compared to major cities.

For this role, we are open to discussing flexible working hours. Please feel free to discuss your needs during the interview, and we will explore what is feasible for the position and service.

We assess our progress and achievements annually, focusing on areas for development while remaining responsive to evolving national and local priorities.

The department currently boasts over 80 pharmacist prescribers, with this number increasing annually. We have four consultant pharmacists across various specialties who, along with many other staff members, participate in national and international initiatives that contribute to the department's outstanding reputation.

Our department offers well-defined career pathways and encourages all staff to enhance their skills. Opportunities include:

  • Prescribing
  • Research internships
  • Project management
  • A wide range of clinical specialties

  • Collaborating with lead consultants in each specialty to enhance the pharmacist's role in outpatient clinics.
  • Providing specialized clinical pharmacy support to both the infusion center and inpatient wards as required.
  • Leading and managing projects aimed at service development, cost efficiency, and clinical excellence.

You will be part of a well-integrated and highly valued team, working closely with consultants and specialist nurses. You will receive support from the Lead Pharmacist for Biologics and will be included in the broader Division B pharmacy team, where you will have opportunities to engage with pharmacists, technicians, and support staff to influence the strategic and operational aspects of the pharmacy service.

We take pride in our use of technology to facilitate communication and regularly explore new methods to enhance our operations and service delivery.

This position is offered on a full-time, permanent basis, with hours and shift patterns open to discussion.
