Position: Quantity Surveyor

Overview

As a Quantity Surveyor at Network Plus Services, you will play a pivotal role in supporting the Commercial Manager. Your primary focus will be on enhancing efficiencies, managing expenditures, and ensuring optimal regional performance for our clients. This position entails overseeing all financial dimensions of projects, including commercial and contractual considerations. You will be responsible for achieving targeted profit margins by applying exceptional commercial insight while identifying, documenting, and monitoring both risks and opportunities.

Key Responsibilities

In this role, you will be expected to:

  • Oversee and analyze project expenditures, including weekly profit and loss reporting.
  • Examine contract documentation and provide guidance on potential issues.
  • Monitor project progress and manage cash flow forecasting.
  • Generate and evaluate commercial forecasts, Cost Value Reconciliation (CVRs), and Project Finance Reports.
  • Handle Subcontract Management, including forecasting, issuing Subcontractor Orders, and negotiating terms.
  • Prepare documentation for subcontract inquiries and assess received quotations.
  • Facilitate subcontract orders, manage agreements, and certify subcontract valuations, invoices, and payments.
  • Administer the change control process, along with risk and value management.
  • Track project modifications, variations, and notifications.
  • Evaluate and assess variations and compensation events.
  • Prepare and submit interim valuations and payment applications to clients, ensuring final accounts are agreed upon.
  • Participate in risk reviews, progress assessments, and commercial meetings with clients on-site.
  • Engage actively in tender processes and pricing strategies.
  • Assist Credit Control in cash recovery and forecasting efforts.
  • Support the operational team with daily commercial and contractual tasks.

Qualifications and Experience

A degree qualification (RICS accredited or equivalent) is preferred but not mandatory. Experience in the Utilities sector is advantageous. A solid understanding of NEC contracts is desirable. You should possess the ability to prioritize tasks, manage multiple responsibilities, and perform effectively under pressure. Excellent communication skills, meticulous attention to detail, and a logical approach to problem-solving are essential.
