About the Role:

Avara Foods is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Engineering Team Leader to join our maintenance team at our hatchery in Ower, near Totton. As a key player in ensuring the smooth running of Hatchery machinery, you will be responsible for planning maintenance and reactive repairs, as well as continually looking for improvements in future processes.

Working Hours:

You will be working 45 hours per week on a 2-week rota. Week 1: Monday – Friday 06:00 – 15:30. Week 2: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday & Saturday 06:30 – 15:30.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Overseeing the planning, execution, and delivery of engineering projects
  • Implementing and maintaining engineering best practices and processes across site
  • Managing, motivating, and mentoring a team of Engineers
  • Improving equipment reliability, stamping out recurring faults
  • Responsibility for equipment servicing and maintenance with external service providers
  • Supporting the back-up call-out rota

Requirements:

  • Previous experience leading or managing a team
  • Ability to bring a team together with open communication, teamwork, and a positive work culture
  • Have completed an Engineering Apprenticeship or qualifications at level 3 or equivalent
  • Previous experience within the agricultural or food industry would be beneficial
