About the Role

The Australian High Commission is seeking a highly skilled HR Specialist to join its European Service Delivery Hub. As an HR Advisor, you will provide expert advice and support to management and employees across a wide range of HR programs and services.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide guidance and support to staff and managers on employee relations, recruitment, learning and development, and compensation and benefits.
  • Conduct recruitment activities, including drafting position descriptions, advertisements, and selection criteria, and coordinating the recruitment process.
  • Coordinate the full employee lifecycle, including induction, orientation, separation management, and exit interviews.
  • Manage contracts, performance, and probation, and oversee right to work documentation.
  • Plan, coordinate, and evaluate learning and development activities, including training programs and workshops.
  • Contribute to staff engagement strategies and coordinate well-being activities and work health and safety programs.
  • Monitor changes in local employment legislation and prepare responses.
  • Assist with HR project-based work, including participating in equality and diversity initiatives.
  • Maintain personnel records in the Electronic Document Record Management System (EDRMS) and the SAP HR system.
  • Provide support to the Regional Payroll and Benefits Manager and assist with payroll processing and reporting.

Requirements

  • Technical knowledge of UK employment law and relevant Australian labour law.
  • Knowledge of HR best practice and experience with HRIS systems such as SAP HR.
  • Highly developed written and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to negotiate mutually beneficial outcomes and influence stakeholders.
  • Stakeholder management skills and ability to understand complex employment legislation.
