Position Overview:
The successful candidate will serve as a Trade Counter Assistant/Driver at a local branch. Candidates should possess experience in retail, trades, or construction, with a strong emphasis on customer service, communication, and interpersonal skills.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist in day-to-day branch operations alongside the Branch Manager and Supervisor.
  • Drive trade counter sales to meet targets while effectively communicating product knowledge to customers.
  • Deliver outstanding customer service to both new and existing clients.
  • Manage the picking, loading, and delivery of products to customers.
  • Operate 5-tonne flatbed trucks and LWB vans.
  • Plan routes, ensure safe driving, and maintain cleanliness of the company vehicle.
  • Support the Branch Manager with timely and complete actions and activities.
  • Adhere to Health and Safety regulations, as well as company policies and procedures.
  • Ensure high standards of customer service and operational excellence are met.
  • Contribute to achieving sales targets while fostering positive customer relationships.
  • Assist in maintaining branch operations and standards, including stock management and cleanliness.

Candidate Profile:
  • Ability to prioritize workload effectively and adapt to urgent matters as they arise.
  • Enthusiasm for delivering exceptional customer service and achieving business objectives.
  • Hands-on, customer-oriented approach with a proactive attitude towards engaging customers.
  • Commercial mindset to drive sales and maximize customer satisfaction.
  • Strong organizational skills and initiative.
  • Proficient in IT, including MS Office and industry-standard software such as SAP.
  • A valid driving license is essential; a FLT license is advantageous.
  • Experience in branch stock management is a plus.
  • Comfortable working both in a team and independently.
  • Previous experience in a similar role within a trade, builders merchant, retail, glazing, or uPVC environment is preferred.
