About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated individual to join our Intelligence Management Unit as a Fixed Intelligence Management Specialist. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in receiving and assessing new information and intelligence from internal and external sources to identify and manage Counter Terrorism (CT) related threat, harm, and risk.

Key Responsibilities

  • Receive and assess new information and intelligence to identify and manage CT/DE related threat, harm, and risk, ensuring compliance with National Standards of Intelligence Management (NSIM) and the Intelligence Handling Model (IHM).
  • Manage the development of intelligence in respect of Priority Investigations, IHM leads, and during Intelligence Enhancement, identifying opportunities and suggesting tactics to address intelligence gaps and information requirements.
  • Gather and develop intelligence in line with national, regional, and force control strategy intelligence requirements, producing intelligence packages, collection plans, and briefing products as directed.
  • Manage nominals as directed, either within a Priority Investigation, following the closure of a priority investigation, as part of a Part 4 Order (Terrorism Act) or a nominal subject to the Terrorist Prevention and Investigation Measures Act (TPIM).
  • Research information to identify potential opportunities to convert intelligence into evidence, ensuring that intelligence gathering is undertaken, secured, and preserved in a manner that meets criminal evidential standards.

About Us

Counter Terrorism Policing is a five-force collaboration delivering Counter Terrorism services to our regional forces and forming part of the national CT Network. Our staff work to the Government's CONTEST strategy under the four pillars of Prevent, Protect, Prepare, and Pursue. We use a functional model with Senior Responsible Officers, line-managed by the CT Head, leading areas of Investigations, Intelligence, Business Services, Borders, Special Projects, Prevent, and Change.

Our mission is to work together to keep people safe from terrorism. Our priorities focus us on driving business through performance, improvement, and transformation to continue to counter the ever-changing threat of terrorism and extremism. Operational oversight and governance are managed by the CT ACC, and the CT Head coordinates delivery against the four strands of CONTEST strategy (Prevent, Protect, Pursue, and Prepare) in collaboration with local policing teams and other partner agencies.
