Position Overview:
The successful applicant will serve as a Trade Counter Assistant/Driver at the Rugby Branch. Ideal candidates will possess experience in retail, trades, or construction, with a strong emphasis on customer service, communication, and interpersonal skills.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist in daily branch operations alongside the Branch Manager and Supervisor, leading by example.
  • Drive trade counter sales, achieving targets while confidently sharing product knowledge with customers.
  • Deliver outstanding customer service to both new and existing clients.
  • Manage the picking, loading, and delivery of products to customers using 5-tonne flatbed trucks and LWB vans.
  • Plan routes effectively, ensuring safe driving and maintaining cleanliness of the company vehicle.
  • Support the Branch Manager in executing tasks and activities promptly and thoroughly.
  • Adhere to Health and Safety regulations, as well as company policies and procedures.
  • Strive for excellence in customer service, operational standards, and branch sales targets.
  • Foster positive customer relationships while contributing to sales goals.
  • Assist in the overall operations of the branch.
  • Provide support to branch colleagues as needed.
  • Maintain branch standards, including warehouse organization, stock management, and cleanliness.
Candidate Profile:
  • Ability to organize workload effectively to meet deadlines while remaining flexible to urgent matters.
  • Passion for delivering exceptional customer service and achieving business objectives.
  • Hands-on, customer-oriented approach, eager to engage with customers and potential clients.
  • Commercial mindset to drive sales and maximize margins while ensuring customer satisfaction.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and use initiative.
  • Proficient in IT, with experience in MS Office and industry-standard software such as SAP.
  • A valid driving license is essential; a Forklift Truck (FLT) license is advantageous.
  • Experience in branch stock management is a plus.
  • Comfortable working in a small team and independently when necessary.
  • Previous experience in a similar role within a trade, builders merchant, retail, glazing, or uPVC environment is preferred.
