Job Description

Role Summary:

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Healthcare Support Specialist to join our team at Edinburgh Napier University's School of Health and Social Care. As a key member of our team, you will provide technical support with clinical skills and simulated practice learning, and teaching & assessment within our School of Nursing, Midwifery and Social Care.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide hands-on technical support with clinical skills and simulated practice learning
  • Assist with the setup and use of training manikins from manufacturers such as Laerdal and Limbs & Things
  • Set up iPad controllers and liaise with our IT Service Desk or relevant providers for updates, trouble shooting, or reporting damaged equipment/property for repair
  • Contribute to the daily running of practical classes and project work for staff and students

Requirements:

  • A degree in a relevant subject, equivalent qualification, OR equivalent professional experience
  • Practical knowledge and experience of clinical equipment/clinical skills procedures
  • Experience of working in a clinical skills centre or healthcare environment
  • Knowledge of Health and Safety procedures, risk assessments and completion of risk assessment forms
  • Good interpersonal and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work flexibly
  • Knowledge of online communication platforms such as Moodle and Microsoft Teams (desirable)
