We are seeking a skilled and customer-focused individual to join our Service Desk team at Midlothian Council. As an IT Support Specialist, you will be the primary point of contact for Council and school staff experiencing IT-related issues.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide technical assistance and support to staff members with IT hardware and software problems.
  • Understand and resolve technical issues efficiently, ensuring minimal disruption to staff work.
  • Collaborate with the team to develop and implement effective technical solutions.

Requirements:

  • Basic understanding of IT concepts and technologies.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities.

Working Arrangements:

The role will be part of a rota providing Service Desk cover between 8am and 5pm, Monday to Friday. The Council is a flexible employer and will consider applicants looking to work flexibly. This role can be undertaken onsite or by a mixture of home and onsite working by agreement with your manager.
