In response to the increasing demands of our thriving Water division, we are looking to recruit Clean Water Network Modellers/Engineers for our UK offices. Our teams operate with flexibility, allowing for a variety of home office arrangements across the listed locations. Successful candidates will collaborate with a diverse group of engineers, modellers, GIS experts, and technicians, playing a crucial role in delivering projects for various clients, including water utility companies, local councils, and developers, with opportunities to engage in international projects.
The Clean Water Networks team is part of the Asset Planning & Solutions practice, undertaking a variety of projects related to water and wastewater management. This includes designing water supply networks and trunk mains, as well as enhancing drainage systems to mitigate flooding and pollution issues, thereby improving environmental conditions. Typically, this work involves conducting feasibility studies and projects utilizing computer modelling and analysis to support operational and environmental recommendations or other interventions. Experience and Skills:
- Familiarity with clean water network modelling using software such as Synergee, InfoWorks, GIS tools like ARC or MapInfo, and civil engineering principles is advantageous but not mandatory, as comprehensive on-the-job training will be provided.
- Roles will involve conducting feasibility studies, performing computer analyses to support water network enhancement projects, and liaising with clients, contractors, stakeholders, and other professional entities. Deliverables will typically include concise reports outlining methodologies and findings from investigations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Overseeing and providing technical guidance to a team of clean water modellers.
- Implementing cutting-edge solutions and fostering innovative approaches.
- Conducting clean water modelling and managing distribution networks.
- Developing and calibrating network models.
- Utilizing network models for planning, operational, and design purposes.
- Managing the delivery of Detailed Zonal Studies, Pressure Management, and DMA Design.
- Supervising report preparation and reviewing outputs.
- Experience with SYNERGI, INFOWORKS WS, EPANET, Infowater, and other modelling software is preferred.
- BSc/BEng/MEng degree in geography, GIS, science, engineering, or a related field, or equivalent qualifications considered for senior roles.
- Technician roles require HNC or HND qualifications in similar disciplines, with opportunities for further qualifications available for successful candidates.
