About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Department Manager to lead our Bakery and Foodhall team at Selfridges. As a key member of our leadership team, you will be responsible for driving sales growth, improving customer satisfaction, and maintaining high standards of quality and service.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement strategies to drive sales growth and improve customer satisfaction in the Bakery and Foodhall department.
  • Lead and motivate a high-performing team to achieve sales targets and exceed customer expectations.
  • Collaborate with concession partners to identify opportunities for growth and improvement.
  • Monitor and control stock levels, inventory, and expenses to ensure efficient operations.
  • Ensure compliance with trading standards, health and safety legislation, and all store operating procedures.
  • Develop and implement plans to improve visual presentation, stock holding, and customer feedback.
  • Conduct regular floor walks and checks to maintain high standards of quality and service.

Requirements

  • Commercially minded with a strong understanding of sales targets, stock levels, and external factors that impact performance.
  • Collaborative leader with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Retail expert with experience in customer-focused, fast-paced environments.
  • Adaptable and proactive with the ability to prioritize tasks and lead by example.
  • Strong communicator with excellent customer service skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
