Lead Substance Misuse Nurse - Band 6

Location: Sutton, Surrey

Salary: £39,005 - £42,618 per annum

Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be tasked with delivering exceptional nursing care and psychosocial interventions tailored to the clinical needs of patients within our service, adhering to contemporary evidence-based practices and relevant clinical guidelines.

  • Provide comprehensive interventions and support for individuals with complex substance misuse needs as part of their recovery journey. This may involve triage, assessments, administration of controlled substances, and facilitating both group and individual sessions.
  • Engage in thorough assessments of care requirements, ensuring a high standard of service delivery that aligns with the operational policies of the facility, as well as the protocols of The Forward Trust.
  • Design, implement, and evaluate personalized care programs using a problem-solving methodology to meet the unique needs of each patient throughout their stay, including detailed plans for continuity of care, transfers, and discharges.
  • Contribute to training initiatives on substance misuse topics for a variety of stakeholders.

Candidate Requirements

  • A minimum of 2 years of post-registration experience in nursing.
  • Proficient in maintaining accurate patient records in compliance with local standards, The Forward Trust, and NMC regulations.
  • Current registration as a General Nurse or Mental Health Nurse.
  • Familiarity with SystmOne software.
  • Experience in custodial environments and substance misuse treatment.
