Job Summary

The Norfolk Community Health and Care NHS Trust is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Triage Clinician to join our team. As a key member of our Triage Hub, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the effective allocation of patient referrals to the most appropriate services.

Main Responsibilities
  • Provide expert clinical guidance and support to triage nurses, ensuring the timely and accurate processing of referrals.
  • Develop and implement triage rotas to optimize resource utilization and ensure the triage service is staffed appropriately to meet fluctuating demands.
  • Liaise with referrers, patients, and other healthcare professionals to inform decision-making and ensure seamless communication.
  • Manage expectations and provide empathetic support to patients and referrers when services are unable to respond as expected.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of new processes and procedures within the triage team, promoting a culture of continuous improvement.

Requirements
  • Registered General Nurse with current NMC registration.
  • Assessor/Mentorship preparation (ENB 998 or equivalent).
  • Experience working at a relevant level within the community setting.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work flexibly and manage stressful situations.
