About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Triage Clinician to join our team at Norfolk Community Health and Care NHS Trust. As a key member of our Triage Hub, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the effective triage of patient referrals and providing high-quality clinical leadership.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the triage team in evaluating patient referrals, prioritizing responses, and allocating referrals to the most appropriate service.
  • Use advanced clinical knowledge to inform decision-making and ensure timely processing of referrals.
  • Liaise with referrers, patients, and other healthcare professionals to ensure effective communication and collaboration.
  • Develop and implement triage rotas to optimize resource utilization and ensure the triage service is staffed appropriately to meet varying demands.
  • Monitor and analyze statistics to identify trends and areas for improvement, and make recommendations for service enhancement.
  • Provide clinical leadership and guidance to triage staff, including mentoring and coaching.
  • Stay up-to-date with relevant policies, procedures, and best practices, and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
Requirements
  • Registered General Nurse with current NMC registration.
  • Assessor/Mentorship Preparation (ENB 998 or equivalent).
  • Experience working at a relevant level within the community setting.
  • Knowledge of additional specialist areas through in-house training and short courses.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and observational skills.
  • Ability to work flexibly, manage stressful situations, and prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Highly motivated, empathetic, and sensitive individual with a strong commitment to patient-centered care.
