About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Triage Clinician to join our team at Norfolk Community Health and Care NHS Trust. As a Senior Triage Clinician, you will play a pivotal role in the Triage Hub, overseeing the day-to-day coordination of patient visits across Norwich.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead staff in ensuring the timely processing of referrals by evaluating complex and sensitive information to enable the allocation of referrals to the most appropriate service.
  • Use advanced clinical knowledge to prioritize the most appropriate response required.
  • Liaise with referrers and patients to inform the decision-making process when deciding the appropriateness and urgency of referrals.
  • Manage the expectation of referrers and patients when services are unable to respond as expected.
  • Develop and implement a triage rota to ensure the effective use of resources while ensuring that the triage service is staffed appropriately to meet varying demands throughout the day.
  • Use advanced judgment skills to determine and re-prioritize own workload and that of other colleagues to meet frequently fluctuating demand.
  • Make recommendations for service improvement to the Clinical Operational Manager based on own experience and feedback from staff and service users.
Requirements
  • Evidence of working at a relevant level within the community setting.
  • Knowledge of additional specialist areas through in-house training and short courses.
  • Registered general nurse.
  • Assessor/mentorship preparation; ENB 998 or equivalent.
  • Current NMC registration.
  • Evidence of continuing professional development.
