Job Summary

The Norfolk Community Health and Care NHS Trust is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Triage Clinician to join our team. As a key member of our Triage Hub, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the effective triage of patient referrals and providing high-quality care to our patients.

Main Responsibilities
  • Lead the triage team in evaluating patient referrals, prioritizing cases, and allocating resources effectively.
  • Use advanced clinical knowledge to make informed decisions and provide guidance to junior staff members.
  • Liaise with referrers, patients, and other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless communication and coordination of care.
  • Develop and implement triage rotas to optimize resource allocation and ensure timely processing of referrals.
  • Monitor and analyze statistics to identify trends and areas for improvement, and make recommendations to the Clinical Operational Manager.
  • Provide supervision and mentorship to junior staff members, and contribute to the development of the triage team.

Requirements
  • Registered General Nurse with current NMC registration.
  • Assessor/Mentorship preparation (ENB 998 or equivalent).
  • Experience of working at a relevant level within the community setting.
  • Knowledge of additional specialist areas through in-house training and short courses.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work flexibly and adapt to changing demands.
  • Highly motivated and able to provide high standards of care.
