Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Mental Health Practitioner to join our team at Oxford Health NHS Foundation Trust. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in providing early intervention and support for young people experiencing emotional distress or emerging mental health issues.

Main Responsibilities
  • Facilitate therapeutic groups in schools, run parent awareness sessions, and provide formal teaching around mental health subjects.
  • Work closely with schools and other stakeholders to assess their needs and develop effective support strategies.
  • Contribute to the development of evidence-based services and specialist programs for the care group, specifically in relation to delivering the in-reach program in schools.
  • Integrate the mental health agenda and community resilience within schools, delivering training, supervision, consultation, and support to key staff.
Person Specification
  • Mental Health or equivalent professional health qualification.
  • Experience of working with children and young people who have mental health difficulties.
  • Ability to organize own time and manage workload, including that of junior staff/learners.
