About the Role

This is a challenging and rewarding position that requires a skilled and compassionate professional to provide high-quality care to women experiencing mental health issues associated with pregnancy and childbirth.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Conduct comprehensive mental health assessments and manage a complex caseload of patients.
  • Support service users by providing practical advice and support, including family work, psychological interventions, and safeguarding concerns.
  • Hold responsibility for the clinical triage of service users who access Mental Health Services during pregnancy and in the first-year post-partum.
  • Conduct social and health assessments involving assessment of risk within the support framework of the perinatal mental health team.

Person Specification

Essential Qualifications:

  • Hold a relevant professional qualification at diploma or degree level - RMN, SW, OT.

Essential Skills:

  • Excellent English verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.

Essential Experience:

  • Appropriate experience, including community and working with mental health.

Desirable Skills and Experience:

  • Positive attitude and passion for specialist perinatal mental health services.
  • Understanding of perinatal mental health and its impact on service users.
  • Proactive, flexible, and adaptable in order to meet the needs of our diverse service.
  • Commitment to delivering high-quality care.
  • Familiarity with current legislation, guidelines, and processes that may affect the way in which mental health care is delivered.
  • Ability to use professional skills to support and motivate colleagues and service users.
