Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Perinatal Mental Health Practitioner to join our team at Oxford Health NHS Trust. As a Perinatal Mental Health Practitioner, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality care to women experiencing mental health issues associated with pregnancy and childbirth.

About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity to work in a community-based, forward-thinking service that is committed to delivering quality patient interventions. You will be working closely with other services, including health visitors and midwives, to ensure we are working together to support our service users.

As a Perinatal Mental Health Practitioner, you will be responsible for undertaking comprehensive mental health assessments, managing a complex caseload, and providing practical advice and support. You will also be involved in the duty rota and will be required to travel across Oxfordshire to meet the needs of our service users.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct comprehensive mental health assessments and develop individualized care plans
  • Manage a complex caseload of service users, including those with high-risk needs
  • Provide practical advice and support to service users, including family work and psychological interventions
  • Work collaboratively with other services, including health visitors and midwives, to ensure a seamless service
  • Participate in the duty rota and be available to respond to urgent referrals
Person Specification

We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced Perinatal Mental Health Practitioner who has a positive attitude and passion for specialist perinatal mental health services. You will have excellent English verbal and written communication skills, be able to work collaboratively as part of a team, and have appropriate experience working in community and mental health settings.
