Altum Consulting, a prominent player in the consulting sector, is seeking a seasoned and visionary Director of Finance & Commercial Operations.

The Director of Finance & Commercial Operations will be an integral member of the executive leadership team, responsible for steering financial strategy, overseeing financial management, and ensuring operational excellence. This role will also encompass the commercial aspects of the organization, including the management of event space rentals and tenant relationships. You will be tasked with ensuring robust statutory compliance, comprehensive financial planning, and accurate reporting for Altum Consulting and its associated entities.

Your key responsibilities will include:

Financial Leadership:

  • Providing strategic direction and managing the finance department to enhance operational efficiency.
  • Preparing and presenting reports for the Finance & Resources Committee and representing the finance function at Board and Executive meetings.
  • Collaborating with the Executive team and Board to develop sustainable financial strategies.
  • Acting as the principal financial controller and primary liaison for auditors and regulatory bodies.
  • Formulating and executing financial strategies and operational plans.
  • Overseeing budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting, and compliance processes.
  • Leading the annual budgeting cycle and year-end financial audits.
  • Ensuring adherence to tax regulations and compliance.
  • Managing payroll, pension schemes, contracts, investments, and banking relationships.
  • Creating financial models for new initiatives and services.
  • Enhancing financial systems and internal controls.
  • Leading and mentoring a team of finance professionals.

Commercial Management:

  • Overseeing commercial agreements, partnerships, procurement, and pricing strategies.
  • Maintaining relationships with current commercial tenants.
  • Developing a Sales & Events strategy aimed at maximizing revenue streams.
  • Positioning Altum Consulting as a premier venue for events and rentals.
  • Coordinating with leasing agents and managing tenant interactions.
  • Creating service charge models and preparing relevant budgets.

Candidate Profile:

  • Qualified ACA, ACCA, or CIMA professional, or possess equivalent experience.
  • Extensive experience in a senior finance role, preferably within consulting, education, or nonprofit sectors.
  • Strong grasp of internal controls and budgeting processes.
  • A commitment to process improvement and delivering exceptional customer service.
  • Proven experience in team leadership and high-level decision-making.
  • Experience in preparing financial documentation for Board presentations.
  • Exceptional problem-solving and analytical skills with meticulous attention to detail.
