About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Senior Structural Engineer to join our highly regarded Civil & Structural team within our Hydrock Manchester office.

This is an excellent opportunity to work on a wide range of projects, from scheme and concept designs to detailed design and construction packages. As a Senior Structural Engineer, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality designs, managing and developing engineers and technicians, and liaising with clients, architects, and contractors.

Key Responsibilities
  • Delivery of scheme and concept designs, including preparation of calculation packages for submission to Building Control.
  • Management and development of engineers and technicians, including preparation of fee proposals and input into project bids.
  • Liaison with statutory authorities, architects, the design team, and contractors, including attendance at client, design, and site meetings.
  • Preparation of detailed design, including full tender and construction packages.
Requirements
  • MEng or BEng in civil or structural engineering.
  • Chartered membership/Associate membership of the IStructE/ICE OR working towards Chartership.
  • Significant experience in building structures design, including experience using analysis and design software packages.
  • Self-motivated team player with good people skills, strong communication, analysis, technical design, and drawing skills.
  • Ability to design through hand calculations and understanding of BIM requirements up to and including Level 2.
  • Developing marketing/business development skills and a strong ambition to be part of Hydrock's success.
