MJ Consulting Engineers (MJC), a leading member of the Structural Engineering Alliance Group, is seeking a highly skilled Graduate Structural Engineer to join our team in Manchester. As a specialist structural engineering firm, we have a strong reputation for delivering high-quality projects in the events industry, including theatre buildings, show productions, and outdoor events.

We are looking for a talented individual to work on a range of projects, from the preservation and enhancement of Grade I and Grade II listed buildings to high-value projects with costs up to £12m. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to engage with the latest design software and work on impactful projects that make a real difference.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Use the latest design software to create and manage structural designs.
  • Ensure projects are appropriately resourced, delegating work to team members, programming deliverables, and monitoring progress.
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering or equivalent (Masters degree preferred).
  • Understanding of the use of design tools within a BIM environment.
  • Use of industry design standards, i.e. Manual for Streets.
  • Problem solver, able to offer solutions to challenges.
  • Able to work and collaborate as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
  • Confident, articulate, collaborative & proactive.
  • Eagerness to learn and to develop your skills and career with training support.
  • Good time management and organisational skills to efficiently manage workload.
  • Excellent spoken and written English.
  • Full UK driving licence and a willingness to travel across the UK.
  • Eligibility to live and work in the UK and be able to demonstrate proof when requested.
