About the Role:

MJ Consulting Engineers (MJC) has an opening for aGraduate Structural Engineer at our Manchester office. MJC is aspecialist structural engineering firm known for its dedication andexcellence in serving the events industry for over 25 years. As acritical part of our team you will be working primarily on theatrebuildings show productions and outdoor events as well as on thepreservation and enhancement of Grade I and Grade II listedbuildings.

With project costs up to 12m and theuse of the latest design software the role offers an excitingopportunity to engage in impactful highvalue projects. Acompetitive salary of up to 40k will be offered commensurate withthe importance of this role within our company.

MJC is part of the Structural Engineering Alliance Group(SEAG) a collective of esteemed engineering firms eachdistinguished in its respective field united by a shared vision ofpioneering progress.

Responsibilities:

  • Use the latest design software to create andmanage structural designs.
  • Liaise with keyclients and discuss design/technical solutions with team membersand stakeholders.
  • Ensure projects areappropriately resourced delegating work to team members programmingdeliverables and monitoring progress.
  • Preparecalculations drawings details specifications and reports for a widerange of structures and materials

Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree in Civil or StructuralEngineering or equivalent (Masters degreepreferred).
  • Understanding of the use of designtools within a BIM environment
  • Use of industrydesign standards i.e. DMRB; Manual for Streets; NJUG SSGetc.
  • Problem solver able to offer solutions tochallenges
  • Able to work and collaborate as partof a multidisciplinary team
  • Confidentarticulate collaborative &proactive
  • Eagerness to learn and to developyour skills and career with trainingsupport
  • Good time management and organisationalskills to efficiently manage workload.
  • A goodknowledge of the CDM regulations in addition to British standardsand EU regulations.
  • Excellent spoken andwritten English.
  • Full UK driving licence and awillingness to travel across the UK
  • Eligibilityto live and work in the UK and be able to demonstrate proof whenrequested.
