About the Role:

The Structural Engineering Alliance Group is seeking a Graduate Structural Engineer to join our team in Manchester. As a critical part of our team, you will be working on theatre buildings, show productions, and outdoor events, as well as on the preservation and enhancement of Grade I and Grade II listed buildings.

With project costs up to 12m and the use of the latest design software, this role offers an exciting opportunity to engage in impactful, high-value projects. A competitive salary will be offered commensurate with the importance of this role within our company.

We are part of the Structural Engineering Alliance Group, a collective of esteemed engineering firms united by a shared vision of pioneering progress.

Responsibilities:

  • Use the latest design software to create and manage structural designs.
  • Liaise with key clients and discuss design/technical solutions with team members and stakeholders.
  • Ensure projects are appropriately resourced, delegating work to team members, programming deliverables, and monitoring progress.
  • Prepare calculations, drawings, details, specifications, and reports for a wide range of structures and materials.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree in Civil or Structural Engineering or equivalent (Masters degree preferred).
  • Understanding of the use of design tools within a BIM environment.
  • Use of industry design standards, i.e. DMRB; Manual for Streets; NJUG SSG etc.
  • Problem solver able to offer solutions to challenges.
  • Able to work and collaborate as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Confident, articulate, collaborative, and proactive.
  • Eagerness to learn and to develop your skills and career with training support.
  • Good time management and organisational skills to efficiently manage workload.
  • A good knowledge of the CDM regulations in addition to British standards and EU regulations.
  • Excellent spoken and written English.
  • Full UK driving licence and a willingness to travel across the UK.
  • Eligibility to live and work in the UK and be able to demonstrate proof when requested.
