MJ Consulting Engineers (MJC) has an opening for a SeniorStructural Engineer at our Manchester office. MJC is a specialiststructural engineering firm known for its dedication and excellencein serving the events industry for over 25 years. As a criticalpart of our team you will be working primarily on theatre buildingsshow productions and outdoor events as well as on the preservationand enhancement of Grade I and Grade II listed buildings.

With project costs up to 12m and the use of the latestdesign software the role offers an exciting opportunity to engagein impactful highvalue projects. A competitive salary of up to 40kwill be offered commensurate with the importance of this rolewithin our company.

MJC is part of theStructural Engineering Alliance Group (SEAG) a collective ofesteemed engineering firms each distinguished in its respectivefield united by a shared vision of pioneering progress.

Responsibilities:

    • Use latest design software to createand manage structural designs.
    • Liaise with keyclients and discuss design/technical solutions with team membersand stakeholders.
    • Ensure projects areappropriately resourced delegating work to team members programmingdeliverables and monitoring progress.
    • Providesupport and guidance to junior staff fostering their developmentand progression.
    • Prepare calculations drawingsdetails specifications and reports for a wide range of structuresand materials
    • Implement Company policies andensure adherence across your team.
    • Monitor andoversee project budgets and staff resources for projectsundertaken.
    • Develop existing customerrelationships and promote MJCs services.
    • Assistin achieving targeted revenues from current and newcustomers.

Qualifications:

    • Chartered Engineer status (CEng)would be advantageous
    • Bachelors degree in Civilor Structural Engineering or equivalent (Masters degreepreferred).
    • Minimum of 4 years of professionalexperience in structural engineering.
    • Proventrack record of cost estimation and projectmanagement.
    • Prior experience working withhistoric buildings is highlydesirable.
