About the Role:

MJ Consulting Engineers (MJC) is a specialist structural engineering firm dedicated to serving the events industry for over 25 years. As a critical part of our team, you will work primarily on theatre buildings, show productions, and outdoor events, as well as the preservation and enhancement of Grade I and Grade II listed buildings.

With project costs up to 12m and the use of the latest design software, this role offers an exciting opportunity to engage in impactful, high-value projects. A competitive salary of up to 40k will be offered commensurate with the importance of this role within our company.

Responsibilities:
  • Utilize the latest design software to create and manage structural designs.
  • Liaise with key clients and discuss design/technical solutions with team members and stakeholders.
  • Ensure projects are appropriately resourced, delegating work to team members, programming deliverables, and monitoring progress.
  • Prepare calculations, drawings, details, specifications, and reports for a wide range of structures and materials.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering or equivalent (Master's degree preferred).
  • Understanding of the use of design tools within a BIM environment.
  • Use of industry design standards, i.e., DMRB; Manual for Streets; NJUG SSG, etc.
  • Problem solver able to offer solutions to challenges.
  • Able to work and collaborate as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Confident, articulate, collaborative, and proactive.
  • Eagerness to learn and to develop your skills and career with training support.
  • Good time management and organizational skills to efficiently manage workload.
  • A good knowledge of the CDM regulations in addition to British standards and EU regulations.
  • Excellent spoken and written English.
  • Full UK driving license and a willingness to travel across the UK.
  • Eligibility to live and work in the UK and be able to demonstrate proof when requested.
