Join our team of experts at Structural Engineering Alliance Group and take on a challenging role as a Senior Structural Engineer in our Manchester office.

We are a specialist structural engineering firm dedicated to serving the events industry for over 25 years. As a critical part of our team, you will be working primarily on theatre buildings, show productions, and outdoor events, as well as on the preservation and enhancement of Grade I and Grade II listed buildings.

With project costs up to £12m and the use of the latest design software, this role offers an exciting opportunity to engage in impactful, high-value projects. A competitive salary of up to £40k will be offered, commensurate with the importance of this role within our company.

Responsibilities:
  • Develop and manage structural designs using the latest software.
  • Liaise with key clients and discuss design/technical solutions with team members and stakeholders.
  • Ensure projects are appropriately resourced, delegating work to team members, programming deliverables, and monitoring progress.
  • Provide support and guidance to junior staff, fostering their development and progression.
  • Prepare calculations, drawings, details, specifications, and reports for a wide range of structures and materials.
  • Implement Company policies and ensure adherence across your team.
  • Monitor and oversee project budgets and staff resources for projects undertaken.
  • Develop existing customer relationships and promote MJC's services.
  • Assist in achieving targeted revenues from current and new customers.
Requirements:
  • Chartered Engineer status (CEng) would be advantageous.
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering or equivalent (Masters degree preferred).
  • Minimum of 4 years of professional experience in structural engineering.
  • Proven track record of cost estimation and project management.
  • Prior experience working with historic buildings is highly desirable.
