About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Structural Engineer to join our team at the Structural Engineering Alliance Group in Manchester. As a critical member of our team, you will be working on a wide range of projects, including theatre buildings, show productions, and historic buildings.

This is an exciting opportunity to engage in impactful, high-value projects with project costs up to £12m. You will have the chance to work with the latest design software and collaborate with key clients and stakeholders.

Responsibilities
  • Project Management: Use the latest design software to create and manage structural designs, ensuring projects are appropriately resourced and delegated to team members.
  • Client Liaison: Liaise with key clients and discuss design/technical solutions with team members and stakeholders.
  • Team Leadership: Ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget, providing support and guidance to junior staff and fostering their development and progression.
  • Design and Documentation: Prepare calculations, drawings, details, specifications, and reports for a wide range of structures and materials.
  • Company Policies: Implement Company policies and ensure adherence across your team.
  • Project Budgeting: Monitor and oversee project budgets and staff resources for projects undertaken.
  • Business Development: Develop existing customer relationships and promote our services.
  • Revenue Growth: Assist in achieving targeted revenues from current and new customers.
Requirements
  • Chartered Engineer Status: Chartered Engineer status (CEng) would be advantageous.
  • Education: Bachelors degree in Civil or Structural Engineering or equivalent (Masters degree preferred).
  • Experience: Minimum of 4 years of professional experience in structural engineering.
  • Track Record: Proven track record of cost estimation and project management.
  • Historic Buildings: Prior experience working with historic buildings is highly desirable.
