Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Principal Geotechnical Engineer to join our team at Advance TRS in Birmingham. As a key member of our engineering consultancy, you will play a crucial role in managing projects and mentoring engineers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead geotechnical design and engineering projects from conception to completion
  • Develop and implement geotechnical design solutions for complex projects
  • Mentor and guide junior engineers to ensure their professional development
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver projects on time and within budget
  • Stay up-to-date with industry developments and best practices in geotechnical engineering

Requirements:

  • Degree qualified in Civil or Geotechnical Engineering, with a Master's degree preferred
  • Significant geotechnical experience gained in a consultancy environment, with a strong track record of delivering complex projects
  • Chartership is essential for the Principal grade
  • Experience of geotechnical design, including earthworks, soil and rock slope, retaining structures, foundations, excavations, basements, and ground improvement
  • Proficiency in using geotechnical software, including Plaxis (2D & 3D), Wallap, and Repute
