Position Overview

Employment Type: Part-time

Compensation: Competitive hourly rate

Anticipated Working Hours: Maximum of 32 hours per week (pro rata)

The successful candidate will have completed a comprehensive 2-year Trainee Nursing Associate training program, achieving a level 5 Foundation Degree equivalent qualification and obtaining NMC registration.

The Healthcare Support Associate will collaborate with Registered Nurses and other healthcare professionals, delivering and overseeing care while contributing to ongoing assessments as directed by supervising clinicians and in accordance with established service pathways.

Key Responsibilities

  • Advocate for health promotion and illness prevention to assist individuals in enhancing and sustaining their mental, physical, and emotional well-being.
  • Deliver and oversee care across various settings, which may include patients' residences.
  • Enhance safety and quality of care by identifying potential risks and taking appropriate measures, prioritizing the needs and preferences of individuals.
  • Collaborate with a mentor to enhance personal clinical skills, leadership abilities, and reflective practice within the workplace.
  • Operate independently when required, providing care in alignment with established care plans while seeking clinical and care guidance as necessary.
  • Direct individuals to relevant services or professionals as needed, maintaining awareness of available support and resources across different healthcare providers.
  • Ensure that only clinical tasks for which competence has been verified are performed without supervision, recognizing the implications of operating beyond one's capabilities.
  • Conduct and document clinical observations, including vital signs such as blood pressure, temperature, and pulse oximetry.
  • Comply with local and national legislation, policies, procedures, and guidelines, actively participating in workplace meetings and contributing to discussions aimed at improving care quality.
