Cinnamon Care is proud to present an exciting opportunity for a Senior Activities Coordinator to enhance the lives of our residents through engaging and enjoyable activities.
As a Senior Activities Coordinator, you will play a pivotal role in both leadership and hands-on engagement, working closely with our Activities Coordinator to oversee a vibrant activities and volunteer program. This position involves effective communication regarding activities-focused initiatives for our residents, as well as building connections within the local community to recruit, train, and manage volunteers. You will be responsible for introducing suitable activities that promote independence and help residents connect with the surrounding community. Flexibility in your working hours is essential, as you will be required to work on a rota basis, including some weekends.
A full clean driving license is necessary, as you will be driving the minibus for outings.
Main Responsibilities
- Plan and facilitate activities that foster social, mental, and, when appropriate, physical engagement for residents, aligning with the Seven Branches of Cinnamon Activities Programme.
- Establish and nurture relationships within the local community to create partnerships with businesses, organizations, and educational institutions. Cultivate a volunteer network that includes family members, team members, and community volunteers to enrich the activities program.
- Oversee the activities team, conducting supervisions and appraisals while addressing personnel matters appropriately, ensuring a well-structured rota is maintained.
- Coordinate special events such as holiday celebrations, community gatherings, and significant occasions.
- Develop a monthly schedule of events to be reviewed with the General Manager, utilizing the Cinnamon Activities Calendar Template.
- Regularly update the Cinnamon website and social media platforms to promote activities to the local community and prospective residents and their families.
- Adhere to the activities budget established for the home.
- Evaluate residents' specific social needs upon their arrival and create personalized activity programs, taking the time to understand each resident as an individual to provide stimulating activities that cater to diverse needs.
Person Specification
- Proven experience in team management.
- Level 3 (QCF) Supporting Activities Provision qualification.
- NAPA Qualifications & Training Areas are desirable.
- Understanding of organizing activities that enhance residents' quality of life.
- Competent IT skills and familiarity with relevant systems.
- Full clean driving license with the capability to operate our minibus for outings.
