Key Responsibilities
As a Lead Nursing Officer, you will be responsible for:
- Providing a high standard of evidence-based care to residents.
- Ensuring that quality care standards are consistently met.
- Adhering to the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) Code of Professional Conduct at all times.
- Engaging and supporting residents, their families, and caregivers throughout the care process.
- Promoting health and well-being while involving residents and their families in educational initiatives.
- Delivering clear and precise written and verbal communication at all times.
- Maintaining accurate and timely record-keeping.
- Seeking guidance from senior staff when necessary.
Upholding Care Standards
You will also be responsible for:
- Observing a general duty of care for the health, safety, and well-being of yourself, colleagues, visitors, and residents.
- Ensuring compliance with all relevant policies, procedures, and statutory obligations.
- Maintaining confidentiality, dignity, and privacy for all residents.
- Valuing diversity and respecting each resident's cultural and religious beliefs.
- Strictly following infection control protocols and procedures.
Qualifications and Experience
Essential Qualifications
- Registered Nurse (RN1) with active NMC registration.
- Comprehensive understanding of the NMC Code of Professional Conduct.
- Proficiency in administering oral medications.
Essential Experience
- Proven ability to manage and prioritize competing workloads.
- Interest in developing clinical knowledge and personal practice.
- Flexibility to adapt to changing situations and work effectively under pressure.
- Capability to address patients' emotional needs with empathy and care.
- Strong problem-solving skills and effective communication abilities, both written and verbal.
